It's not coming out after all. She wasn't satisfied with the end result so isn't going to release it.

HEARTBEAT TO CHARTBREAK
EXCLUSIVE TV's stunning Tricia Penrose dreamed of being a singing sensation ... but it ended on a sour note I LOVE MY JOB, BUT I WANTED A HIT RECORD.. AND WHEN MY SONG ONLY GOT TO No 60 I WAS DEVASTATED
By Jon Wise
HEARTBEAT'S popular pint-puller Tricia Penrose could be forgiven for drowning her sorrows after her bid to become a chart-topping singer turned out to be an expensive flop.
The 36-year-old actress spent a fortune recording an album of 60s covers but scrapped it because she felt it wasn't good enough.
And her dream of being a top vocalist took another dent when a single release limped into the charts at a lowly No 60.
Tricia, who has played Aidensfield barmaid Gina Ward ever since Heartbeat started 14 years ago, admits she is still suffering "chartbreak" over the massive disappointment.
"I'm devastated," said the star, whose fledgling singing career looked so promising after she managed to reach the final of A Song For Europe in 2002.
"I spent a hell of a lot of money on that album, hiring a studio, musicians and producers but I wasn't happy with it. So now I've scrapped it - I've got about 35 million copies in the house.
"It just wasn't good enough. I was really disappointed with the way it turned out and in the end I just said to myself 'Forget it'.
"I'd rather it was done perfect or not at all. At the end of the day I decided it wasn't worth all the hassle.
"It took me months and months to put it together and I can't go through all that again."
This year she recorded a cover of Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow? with actor and musician Murray Head, although it was only available to download on the Internet. And sadly for her, she had to turn down a chance to sing on the next series of ITV1's Soapstar Superstar because it clashed with Heartbeat's filming schedule.
"Otherwise I'd be in there like a shot because I love singing," says the Liverpool-born actress.
"I've done Stars In Their Eyes twice as well as Abbamania on TV. So if anything like that came up again and it didn't clash with Heartbeat, I'd jump at it."
Meanwhile, though, her singing is limited to charity shows - she loves to pick up the microphone and croon for an audience just for fun.
Tricia may have got her fingers burned with her debut album, but she feared for her life after a Heartbeat stunt got too hot to handle.
In the new series which started on ITV1 last Sunday, viewers will see her slumped on the ground a few feet away from a Morris Minor engulfed in flames after a bomb explosion.
"I really thought my number was up because the heat was so intense," Tricia reveals.
"You couldn't see me for flames. I was praying for someone to shout 'Cut!' but they kept on filming.
"The heat was so intense that I swear my leather boots were about to burst into flames too."
The star was left hot and bothered but otherwise unscathed - and luckily for her, all the fiery action was captured in one take, so she didn't have to repeat her ordeal.
"At the end of the day it's all part of the job," she says. "You do whatever you're told and hope that everything works out."
Off screen, Tricia once feared she would never meet her Mr Right, but all that changed when she fell for TV presenter and businessman Mark Simpkin, 33, in 2001.
He was a reporter on This Morning and they started dating after he interviewed her. Just 18 months later they got married and they now have a son, Jake.
"He's a smashing little lad, with a lovely personality," she smiles.
"Being with him makes you realise what the really important things in life are - though juggling work with family life can be demanding.
"It's getting a bit easier now, though, because Jake is in nursery a few days a week and is due to start pre-school.
So for three days a week - the average number that I work - he's sorted.
"But if there's a problem I can always call on my mum who's fantastic and Mark's mum and sister who are great. Luckily, we all live close to each other."
Tricia and Mark, who now hosts TV property show I Want That House, have moved into a barn conversion on the banks of a Cheshire canal.
"It was completely derelict when we bought it at auction three years ago, so we are very proud of it to say the least," says Tricia.
"The house is just about complete now and it's stunning.
"Mark has designed almost all of it - with my help - and I got stuck in with some painting. It overlooks lovely countryside and has steps down to the canal.
"We have a mooring for a barge so we're thinking of getting one of those next because we all love boats."
Busy Tricia has also taken on another project - selling jewellery.
"I'm becoming a bit of a Delgirl," she laughs. "It started when I bought some jewellery from a guy abroad.
"It's really nice stuff and the plan is to buy more of it and sell it on my website and also to do some jewellery parties."
But she has no plans to leave Heartbeat despite an announcement in February that she planned to do just that.
"I did think about leaving for a while," admits the star.
"I was unsure whether to stay or not. Being away from my baby was getting me down."
Travelling to Leeds and Goathland, Yorkshire, where the drama is made, and being away from home for three nights a week, was becoming a struggle.
"One night I was having a glass of wine after work in Goathland and mum rang to say Jake's first tooth was coming through.
"I was upset that I hadn't seen it and a bit jealous. I was turning down other good work because I was so committed to Heartbeat.
"I was asked to do Strictly Come Dancing, but I couldn't take six weeks off filming to do it. I told the cast and crew - Derek Fowlds, who plays Oscar Blaketon, even bought me a leaving present.
Then I took a holiday to Egypt and had a long think. And I knew in my heart that I wasn't ready to go.
"I grew up on Heartbeat and I'd miss everyone too much."
Her character, Gina, has suffered her share of disappointments and setbacks over the years, but it looks as though love could be in the air for her again in the new series.
Her old friend and former lover PC Bellamy, played by Mark Jordon, is back on the scene.
"I think the viewing public are longing for them to become an item again," says Tricia.
"We both get loads of letters asking when it's going to happen.
"Even people in the street say to me 'Ooh, you've got to get together with Bellamy'. So I think it will be nice if they do."
